Most commercial insurance companies cover telemedicine the same way they cover in-person office visits. Unfortunately, Medicare does not cover telemedicine at this time.
Many patients like telemedicine because is a convenient way to talk to your provider without the added time and expense of traveling to the doctor’s office. It is particularly useful for routine follow up visits and prescription refills.
